The Xi Chi Chapter of O’Fallon, Illinois teamed up with the Illinois State Council to support Hope for Heroes, a organization tightly knit with ESA that works to support active military, veterans and their families. The Xi Chi Chapter and Illinois State Council put together holiday care packages, including Christmas stockings in order to spread the holiday cheer overseas. The packages were distributed to team members in the Army and Air Force Reserves with the Defense Logistics Agency-Disposition Services. They are working to get equipment out of Afghanistan and back to the US, or selling scrap metal to national contractors. Their base is up in the mountains at about 7,500 feet. The team members who received the care packages were very surprised and excited for the spontaneous holiday cheer.
